The Evanston Township High School boys golf team shot a 5-under-par 283 on Tuesday, Sept. 8, to win the Wildcat Boys Golf Invitational. The victory gives the Wildkits their third tournament title of the 2026 season.

Three ETHS golfers finished under par, according to Evanston Athletics on X. Individual scores and the names of the three sub-par finishers were not posted.

The 283 is the team's lowest score of the young season. ETHS shot 285 to win the Twin Orchards Invitational and 291 to take the Central Suburban League Showcase, edging defending state champion New Trier at both events, according to Patch.

Junior Lester Low, the defending Class 3A individual state champion, leads the Wildkits. Low won the title as a sophomore and is the first ETHS golfer to claim a state championship. He fired an 8-under-par 64 at the CSL Showcase and a 3-under 67 at Twin Orchards.

Luciano Giangrossi, Henry Schmidt, Wade Hart, Johnny Allocco and Henry Way contributed key scores at the CSL Showcase and Twin Orchards. Head coach Jed Curtis told Patch on Sept. 1 that the team's approach goes beyond chasing trophies.

"I think we're more process-driven than results-driven," Curtis said. "We're not talking now about winning State, we're just talking about giving it our best every time out."

ETHS finished as IHSA state runner-up in both 2024 and 2025, losing on tiebreakers each year. The Wildkits' 283 on Tuesday suggests the gap may be closing.
