Evanston's first all-community 5K run and walk takes over Lazier Field on Sunday, Sept. 27, giving runners, walkers and families a new reason to lace up for homecoming weekend.
The ETHS Alumni Association is hosting the Homecoming Hustle 5K at Memorial Stadium, 2285 Church St., with a start time of 8 a.m. The organization described the event as the first all-community ETHS fun run and walk in its Race Roster listing, calling it a brand-new Wildkit tradition on its Facebook page.
Everyone is welcome. The race is open to current ETHS students, alumni, staff, families and community members of all ages and abilities.
What participants get
Registration costs $35 plus fees, totaling $39.44. That price covers a commemorative t-shirt and a finisher medal. Entertainment and refreshments follow the race, according to the ETHS Foundation's homecoming page.
The registration window runs through Sunday, Sept. 20. Whether late registration will be available after that date is not stated in event materials.

The 5K caps a three-day ETHS Homecoming Weekend running Sept. 25–27. The weekend begins Friday, Sept. 25, with an Alumni & Friends Pre-Game Tailgate at the southeast corner of Church and Dodge, followed by a varsity football game featuring ETHS against Glenbrook North at Lazier Field.
