Northwestern Athletics opened nominations Thursday, June 25 for the fourth annual "A Life Touched, A Generation Changed" Award, which honors one former Wildcats letterwinner each year for their impact on others through service and community leadership.

The award was established in 2023 by University Trustee David G. Kabiller, a former Northwestern tennis player. A monetary gift goes to the recipient's sports program.

Past honorees: Chinazo Cunningham (Softball, 2023), now New York State's commissioner of addiction services; John Trautwein (Baseball, 2024), founder of The Will To Live Foundation; and Wendy Nelson (Women's Tennis, 2025), a longtime university trustee who created Champions for Wildcat Women.

Any former Northwestern letterwinner is eligible. Nominations can be submitted through Northwestern Athletics at nusports.com. No deadline for the 2026 cycle has been announced.
