The Kuumba Evanston Olympic Games will host a soccer tournament Saturday, June 20, at 9 a.m. at Lazier Field in Evanston.
Chicago Stars FC, the NWSL professional women's soccer team based in Evanston, is sponsoring the soccer portion of the third annual games. The team's mascot, Supernova, will appear at the tournament, per an ETHS Athletics post on X.
The Kuumba Olympics is a three-week event introducing rising fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-graders to competitive sports. More than 350 young athletes participated in Week 1, which included swimming, tennis, fencing, golf, wrestling, baseball, bowling, and dance.
Saturday's tournament format and team details have not been announced.
