Northwestern placed 116 student-athletes on the Spring Academic All-Big Ten list, the Big Ten Conference announced Wednesday, June 10. The haul pushes the Wildcats' 2025-26 academic all-conference total to 329, the program's highest since 2021-22.

Three athletes posted perfect 4.0 GPAs during their seasons: women's lacrosse players Cara Nugent, a graduate student from Boxford, Mass., and Jaylen Rosga, a senior studying Learning & Organizational Change from St. Paul, Minn., along with Erin Boler, a junior economics major on the women's track & field team from Niskayuna, N.Y.

Women's lacrosse led all spring sports with 26 honorees. Among them: senior Madison Taylor of Wantagh, N.Y., who won the 2026 Tewaaraton Award and the Honda Sport Award for Lacrosse. Women's fencing followed with 20 honorees, baseball contributed 19, softball 15, and women's track & field 14. Men's golf (6), women's golf (4), men's tennis (6), and women's tennis (6) rounded out the list.

The 329-athlete year total is the fifth time in six years that more than 300 Wildcats earned the distinction, according to the athletics department.

Baseball's honorees include Jack Lausch, a graduate student in sports administration from Chicago, and junior economics major Garrett Shearer of O'Fallon, Ill. Men's golf senior Daniel Svärd of Järfälla, Sweden, who earned PGA Tour University membership in June 2026, also made the list.

To qualify, athletes must carry a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and have been enrolled full time for at least 12 months.
